Nikos KanakisNicholas Kanakis graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, School of Architecture in 1981. During his studies and the years following his graduation until 1984, he worked in the “C. D. Kapsambelis & Associates” Architects & Consultants, participating in the design of large scale projects in Greece (as the Onassio Cardiac Surgery Center) and in the United Arab Emirates (ADIA Headquarters, ADNOC Headquarters).

From 1985 until 1988 he worked in the “E. Skroumbelos & Associates” Architects & Consultants, where he also participated in the design of large scale public and private projects, as the Concert Hall of Athens, the Heraklion Airport, the Kastoria Hospital and the Elefsina Hospital.

In 1989 he founded his own Architectural Design Office “N. Kanakis & Associates” and since then he has undertaken a large variety of projects in Greece, Egypt and London, such as Office buildings, Showrooms, Resorts, Private Residences, Apartment Buildings and Interior Design projects providing “total design” from the architectural idea to the designing of furniture and custom built details.

The aim of “N. Kanakis & Associates” office is the complete design study which combines inspirational architectural ideas with the fulfillment of the client’s needs and desires, providing aesthetic and functional buildings adapted to the landscape, while fully respecting the environment.

The structural efficiency, the use of passive energy systems and the use of modern building management technologies (smart buildings), as well as the  landscaping adapted to the site’s climate, are among others the key elements offering the function and the high living standards that the users of the buildings expect.
